Key Responsibilities
Commercial Sales and Client Support
- Act as a prompt and professional first point of contact for inbound sales enquiries across acoustic consultancy, testing, design, and product services.
- Qualify client requirements, budgets, timescales, and decision-making criteria, and recommend suitable standard services or next steps.
- Maintain sufficient knowledge of the company's services and products to explain their benefits clearly, while referring complex technical matters to the appropriate technical colleague.
- Manage assigned opportunities from initial enquiry through follow-up, quotation, decision, booking, and handover.
Quotation Proposal and Pipeline Management
- Prepare accurate quotations and proposals using approved scopes, pricing, templates, and commercial terms.
- Coordinate technical input for acoustic panels, specifications, testing, design, or other technically complex work and obtain approval before issue where required.
- Maintain accurate CRM and pipeline records, including values, stages, next actions, expected decision dates, and outcomes.
- Track open quotations and follow up consistently to progress decisions, understand objections, and improve conversion.
Business Development and Account Management
- Support targeted business development campaigns, outbound contact, lead research, and re-engagement of previous clients.
- Build and maintain professional client relationships, identify repeat-business and cross-selling opportunities, and provide responsive after-sales support.
- Work with marketing, the Office Manager, and technical colleagues to improve campaigns, client experience, and pipeline growth.
Finance Administration and Credit Control
- Prepare and process sales invoices and related records accurately and in line with agreed procedures.
- Record client payments and maintain clear, up-to-date invoice and payment information for assigned accounts.
- Support routine reconciliation of invoices, payments, and sales records, investigating discrepancies and liaising with the accounts team where required.
- Monitor outstanding invoices and aged debt, issue reminders, and chase overdue payments professionally and consistently.
- Respond to routine invoice queries, coordinate supporting information, and escalate disputes, credit requests, or material payment risks promptly.
- Maintain confidentiality and accurate audit trails for financial and client information.
Experience Required
Sales and Commercial Experience
- Ideally 5 years' experience in a sales, sales support, account management, business development, or client-facing role, ideally within construction, consultancy, engineering, or technical services.
- Confident managing enquiries, preparing quotations, following up opportunities, and maintaining accurate CRM or pipeline records.
- Good commercial awareness, including an understanding of pricing, scope, value, and the importance of margin and payment terms.
Finance Administration
- Experience supporting invoicing, payment recording, reconciliation, bookkeeping, sales ledger, or credit-control activity.
- Confident discussing outstanding invoices with clients in a professional, constructive, and persistent manner.
- Strong numerical accuracy and the ability to maintain complete, confidential financial records.
Product and Service Knowledge
- Able and willing to develop a practical understanding of acoustic consultancy services, testing, design, and acoustic products.
- Comfortable interpreting straightforward specifications and explaining product or service benefits without overstating technical expertise.
